SERVICES
Preconstruction Planning and Design Review
We provide collaborative self-evaluation and transition planning and review services to help parks make accessibility improvements that are sensitive to cultural and natural resources and are cost-effective. Working with facility management we develop in-house projects and help write and cost PMIS statements for larger projects needed. We review larger contracted design and construction documents to assure your project will be accessible when completed.
Site Rehabilitation Services
We specialize in providing practical solutions to parks to make existing campgrounds, picnic areas, comfort stations, trailheads and trails, entrance signs, and overlooks accessible. We utilize the in-house facilities management division and small, focused contracts to quickly improve accessible experiences for visitors.
Employee Training
Knowledgeable employees can have the greatest impact on making a park accessible to visitors with disabilities. From interpretive rangers, law enforcement, concessioners, and park maintenance staff, learning the requirements and understanding ways to communicate with people with disabilities can mean the difference between a great visit or a frustrating one. We provide hands-on training in your park.
ABOUT
With over 35 years of design experience with national park sites and more than 20 years of specializing in accessibility technical guidance and project review, we are ready to help your park be more accessible and welcoming to visitors with disabilities.
We work with parks to develop projects that can be accomplished with in-house staff and aid park staff in writing design-build contracts for larger project needs. We also review park project statements to make them more competitive and review design and construction documents for compliance with accessibility laws. We can review your construction projects during construction and at completion for errors in construction that can be fixed prior to final acceptance of the work.
We are passionate about making our national park and forest sites and programs accessible and providing meaningful experiences for all visitors.
